The Kingdom of Light is often forsaken for the Kingdom of Darkness.

Choosing light isn’t easily done, not when the dark is known as Murk. Superhuman monsters bent on destroying the world. Not when their light grows dimmer day after day. And not when the line dividing evil and good, death and life begins to disappear.

As superhuman abilities of electricity, regeneration, and more grow; as secret alliances between Murk and Lucian form, and as the dead resurfaces, one question remains:

Which kingdom will you stand for?

Answer wisely. After all, choosing the Kingdom of Light isn’t easily done.

Mason managed to create a cast that felt so real, so easy to become attached to. I found myself rooting for characters and feeling their pain and frustration. It was truly remarkable work.

It was a book that held my interest from beginning to end, never wavering (the only reason I ever put it down was to go to bed, and even then I wished I could go on). I recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy novels. It will live up to your expectations, I assure you.

This is definitely a page turner – “I need to know everything” type book! I was so invested in what was going to happen next. We have a lot of details surrounding the family, Eveline and Sunny’s parents, friends, school, powers —- so much happened in this book!Overall, if you enjoy a good fantasy story, pick this one up. It has a great action packed ending that leaves you dying to know what happens next!

Really good intro to the KOL series, really want to spend more time with these characters and see where this goes. Th ending was sooooo good, really sets up the next book nicely.

I love that this author writes in a genre that I don’t normally read (fantasy/science fiction), but she does it in a way that is relatable and draws you in.

The ending of the story was just perfect. I’m anticipating the next book.

The Kingdom of Light is also an example of a book where the further in you read the more hooked you are. About halfway through, the plot really takes hold, and after that I did not want to put it down! There are some really great twists and surprises that caught me off guard. It’s the kind of book that has you questioning which characters to “trust”!
