We’re On The Rise!

I'm. On. The. Rise!

Believe it or not, those four words aren't brought on by arrogance, but are spoken more out of the belief in myself than conceit. When I hear and look at those words, I see movement—a constant, rocket-shooting kind of movement, and it rattles the ground and shakes buildings. And it is good.

It's a good thing to have such a belief in yourself that the things around you shake, because in the shaking of things you find out who or what is permanent or temporary. You find how you can move beyond being stuck and complacent.

Be warned, because when you say and believe you are on the rise, there will be some naysayers. Whether behind your back or in your face, they’ll say how impossible it is for you to go any higher than you are. But frankly, what others think or say about you, good or bad, is none of your business. What is, is what you think you're capable of, because in the end, it's what moves you to do and be better.

I am those four words, moving higher and higher in my purpose in life, rattling the unbeliever's doubt, and shaking off the darts and daggers meant to stop and harm me. Don't you want to be those words?

Goodness and Love,

Octavia D. Mason
